What are the different hair colors and info on how they work? Like semi and demi ect...?
yahWhat are the different hair colors and info on how they work? Like semi and demi ect...?
Temporary hair color
A girl with purple colored hair.Temporary hair color is available as rinses, shampoos, gels, sprays, and foams among others. This type of hair color is typically brighter and more vibrant than semi-permanent and permanent hair color. Temporary color is most often used to color hair for special occasions and is often used in unusual shades for events, parties and Halloween.
Semi-permanent hair color
Semi-permanent hair dye has smaller molecules than temporary dyes, and is therefore able to partially penetrate the hair shaft. For this reason, the color will survive repeated washing, typically 4-5 shampoos. Semi-permanents contain no, or very low levels of developer, peroxide or ammonia, and are therefore safer for damaged or fragile hair.
Demi-Permanent hair color
Demi-permanent hair color is, in fact, permanent hair color that contains an alkaline agent other than ammonia (e.g., ethanolamine, sodium carbonate) and, while always employed with a developer, the concentration of hydrogen peroxide in that developer may be lower than used with a permanent hair color. Since the alkaline agents employed in dem-perms are less effective in removing the natural pigment of hair than ammonia these product provide little to no lightening of hair's color during dyeing. As the result, they cannot color hair to a lighter shade than it was before dyeing and are less damaging to hair than their permanent counterpart.
Permanent color
All ';permanent'; haircolor products and lighteners contain a developer, or oxidizing agent, and an alkalizing agent ammonia.
When the tint containing the alkalizing ingredient is combined with the developer (usually hydrogen peroxide), the peroxide becomes alkaline and diffuses through the hair fiber, entering the cortex, where the melanin is located. Lightening occurs when the peroxide breaks up the melanin and replaces it with new color.
The ammonia opens the cuticle of the hair to allow the color pigments to penetrate deep into the hair shaft.
Permanent color is truly permanent and will not wash out, although it may fade. New hair regrowth will obviously be in the hair's natural color, meaning that regular monthly or six-weekly coloring will be essential for as long as the hair color is maintained.
Permanent haircolor is the only way to dye dark hair into a lighter shade, and it must be done in two parts: First, the hair is bleached, then color is applied. What are the different hair colors and info on how they work? Like semi and demi ect...?
semi permanent will wash out in about 28 washes. i don't know what demi is but permanet will not wash out therefore giving you roots. If you don't want roots and a temporary hair color go with the semi permanent. Plus its less harmful to your hair.
huh?

Yahoo answers should allow the avatars more hair colors?
What do you think about this?Yahoo answers should allow the avatars more hair colors?
I think they got all the main hair colors down.
Brown, Blonde, Grey, Black and even pink and orange if you chose a Mohawk.
I don鈥檛 think hair comes in any other color.Yahoo answers should allow the avatars more hair colors?
Yes.
Seems a bit picky, but I'm actually a redhead. The only red available for this hairstyle (on my avatar) is that god-awful orange. Blecchh.

Can anyone tell me if there is a line of hair colors without red pigment?
I want to dye my hair my natural color (and leave it!) but all the hair dyes I have used in the past have gone brassy - and I hate brassy!
HELP!!!Can anyone tell me if there is a line of hair colors without red pigment?
Go to a beauty supply, on the colors there they have the base colors written down on the bottles. I think your hair keeps coming out brassy because everyone has red tones in their hair, some times that happens even when you don't use a color that has red in the base. I really think you should go to a professional and have it dyed back though. Good luck. P.s. ';ash'; is not the opposite of red, green is. purple is the opposite of orange.Blue is the opposite of yellow. You need to understand the color wheel to understand hair color better. Can anyone tell me if there is a line of hair colors without red pigment?
try using the ones with ';ash'; in the name. i had that problem too, my colors would always fade to red but it doen't happen with ash browns.
Most L'Oreal hair products will tell you on the bottle what kind of base it has. You want to pick one that has a neutral base vs. red, gold, or blue. I have natural red tones in my hair. Even when I use ash blonde shades it will still come out orange. The last one I tried had a neutral base and it came out perfect! L'Oreal is really good at providing a beleivable blonde color too!
Colors that are labelled as ';Ash'; are designed to suppress red tones.
When in doubt, go pro. I agree (and know for a fact from my schooling) that ';ash'; is opposite of red-but if you're not careful, you could end up with something you hate.
Try looking for a local cosmetology school, and you can have your hair done for a lot less money, and it's supervised, so there won't be any mistakes.
If your using home hair color they will always go brassy. They don't carry the power of professional color. Home hair color has red and green base where professional color starts with a blue base to even things out from the start! Find a stylist that uses dixon color- by far the best for natural looking tones!curly hair styles

Will some places not hire you if you have crazy hair colors?
I love streaking my hair different colors (purple, pink, blue, for ones I've already done) because I'm, well, different. (Plus a tad bit eccentric). Well, I was just wondering, will places like Taco Bell or Starbucks hire you if you wear crazy colors sometimes? (oh yeah, I'm a teen). Will some places not hire you if you have crazy hair colors?
Well I'm not sure that Taco Bell or other fast food places would really care, seeing as how you might just end up wearing a sanitary hat if you work in the kitchen.
But speaking from experience, YES I've seen a lot of workplaces that didn't want to hire me because of crazy hair-streaks and colours!
It's because some older, more mature people come in and they look down upon 'young folks' i guess haha, and it basically hurts their business, know what I mean?
Not that I cared at the time but yes, if you're really after a specific job where you'll be greeting a lot of people, you might want to lay off the excessive color for a bit. Will some places not hire you if you have crazy hair colors?
I don't think it would make too much of a difference at taco bell lol because i've seen pretty crazy people there and i don't think clothes thing would be an issue there because they have purple uniforms and stuff for you to wear
Starbucks.. i'm not sure because it's supposed to be like an expensive coffee place and lots of business people go there.. so it might be a little stricter there.. but i don't think hair color would be that much of a problem.. but it could be depending on the area i guess.. you could always ask them though =\ sorry
i hope that was kind of helpful though =\
Yep, but at least its not permanent. I've always wondered what people that tattoo or have piercings all over their face do when they realize ';Oh crap, what have I done?';. Expressionism is a good thing but don't make it permanent.
The store I worked at as a teen did not and still does not allow funky color hair, facial hair, long hair on guys, any facial piercings or even earrings for a guy!
some of them will hire you, but it will be harder with crazy hair. At times, I have seen people working at Starbucks with some weird hair colors
