Do those Pantene shampoos for different hair colors really work?

So I have dark brown hair, and i really want to go lighter, but im not sure because my eye browns are dark but i heard those pantene shampoos can lighten your color with out dyes. Does anyone have any suggestions if i decide to dye my hair to a lighter brown?Do those Pantene shampoos for different hair colors really work?

OHHH MY GOSH NO THEY DO NOT. I have blonde hair and i wanted to go a little darker, so i tried the brown one, and it turned my hair orange. I would say you should just dye your hair. =D

I too have dark hair and have experimented with the pantene shampoos. They did not work. Not even a little. I have been a fan of pantene's but no luck here, just the normal shine.





I dyed my hair to chocolate cherry color which is not really lighter but adds with a hint of red but overall brown.





If you dye your hair to a much lighter color, remember you have to maintain your roots. Can be costly but it never hurts to experiment either. If you don't like it, you can always go back darker after a couple of months. Don't dye multiple times in a short span of time. Can cause major hair damage, breakage and hair loss.
