Im looking to color my deep dark black hair to some shades of brown. If I go for some kinda brown does that mean I have to bleach? Im really worried to about ruining my hair's natural texture. Can some one help? Is it safe just to go for a black color itself?Hair colors on dark black hair without ruining the texture?
Tones and Textures is a an excellent brand that allows you to lift you color w/o out ammonia which is the leading cause of breakage. Many of their colors also do not have peroxide in them all w/ the exception of the light blonde color. You can also try a rinse, or demi permanents. I prefer staying chemical free. Regardless of the option you go w/ wrap your hair, trim every 3 months, limit heat style, and relaxers every 8 weeks are stay natural like me. While blondes have it easy when it comes to dyeing their hair, people with naturally black hair are on the other end of the spectrum. Since dark hair is already deeply pigmented, absorbing pigment that is lighter than the hair itself usually does no more than MAAAAYBE throwing in a few noticeable highlights in your lighter spots.
With very dark hair, you DO usually have to bleach in order to get a lighter shade. The good thing is, hair care and color has definitely improved a little over the years, and lighteners are not as harsh as perhaps they once were.
If you wanna go brown, especially if you really haven't done this before, I would highly advise that you make an appointment with a hair dresser and have it done professionally. This doesn't necessarily hafta be all that expensive -- chain hair care places can do color, too. If you get it done ';right'; the first time, your stylist can tell you about certain products, and can show you techniques that will make maintaining this color (or trying a different color next time) a lot easier. He or she can specifically recommend products for your hair type and treatment that mitigate damage and help you keep the color in longer!
you can color without using bleach. There are color lines out there that don't use ammonia too. Tocco Magico is 99.9% natural and very beautiful. You can go black but it is hardly recommended. Unless you like goth.
yellooowwwww :)
