What's the difference of the different hair colors, such as blondes vs brunettes?

I am a dark blonde, but most people say I am a brunette. I've read somewhere that blonde people usually are fairskinned, and brunettes usually have olive skin. I' ve also read that blonde people have more ';see-through'; hairstraws than brunettes, but I'd like to have some facts on this, please.What's the difference of the different hair colors, such as blondes vs brunettes?
Blondes and brunettes, although the color could be close, have different base color undertones. That's all, it has nothing to do with your skin color. I'm a brunette and i have olive/pale skin....even if I'm Spanish. yep im a freak but it has nothing to do with your skin.

A pic would be nice and make it easier to judge. My niece has very dark blond or very light brown....I consider her the dark blond because her eyebrow are very light.
