Which hair colors keep the color longest?

I have tried to dye my blonde hair light brown, but it keeps fading out and when it fades it looks orangey which I don't like. I would like a light to medium brown that will stay and not fade to anything orange. Anyone had any success dyeing blonde hair brown and keeping it from fading?Which hair colors keep the color longest?
Fading is very normal and can be frustrating. If you're using professional color, only thing you have to do is add some blue-violet additive to the formula (a very small amount). It will counteract the orange. If your using over the counter color, it's hard to do.Which hair colors keep the color longest?
The one closest to your own. The professional dyes last longer. Perhaps you should try a reverse frost. It's best to lighten or darken gradually. Use permanent color and a temporary rinse in between. Try a salon.

I thought blonds had more fun!
I had a similar situation, except I was trying to go lighter and my hair kept pulling an orange yellow until I highlighted to a blonder tone.

You need a light to medium brown color with an ash base to cut the brassiness. Remember ash is green, so see instructions below.

Please check in with a licensed colorist, as this person can make sure your hair does not turn a dull gray tone.

You should also use shampoos and conditioners for your hair color like Pantene.

Also, wearing a hat will help combat fading.

Please do not go swimming in a pool, as the chlorine can make the haircolor look horrible.
